"this website is devoted to defending the Parco di Monza from private interest allowed by those institutions that should instead protect it as a unique historical and environmental asset".
Local environmental association Legambiente appealed to court opposing the award of tender to renovate Villa Reale di Monza. Go through the highlights of the appeal.
The cities of Monza and Milan jointly can profit from a rent of 800,000 Eur/year only for the whole area granted to the racing track management. Cost per sq.meter is 0.60 Eur only for an area of 140 hectares ground inside this historical park, whereas the racing track managers pay some 11 million Eur every year to Mr. Ecclestone just to retain the F1 grand prix until 2011.

Comitato per il Parco A. Cederna, along with domestic W.W.F. and local associations Italia Nostra and Legambiente appealed to the Administrative Court of Lombardy Region (TAR). Appeal still pending.

Please help us out and sign the on line: PETITION.

The Parco di Monza is also housing a golf club, a private association composed of some 700 members. In other words, 700 people only have the sole use of approx. 1 million sq.meters of Park, whilst folks, namely 2 million visitors per year, have 3 million sq.meters at their disposal as a whole!
Should you disagree, please sign our PETITION in.

Oggetto:  Re: PETITION TO DEFEND AND PRESERVE PARCO DI MONZA

We understand from your interviews to the local press that:

. Lombardy Region has allocated Eur 1,700,000 to finance a private company belonging to ACI group (domestic automotive association), namely Sias, to build premises for driving inside the park, too much near an area that has recently been restored by a private company, Patagonia. This area, a wide meadow sheltering a high number of bird species, could likely be covered with asphalt and put at the disposal of the racing track management.

. Mayor and council majority have decided to renew to the racing track management a grant maturing in 2026 at a ridiculous fee for such a wide area, namely Eur 800,000/year. Such a decision has not even been discussed in proper town council meetings.

. Mayor and council majority are discussing the building of a F1 stadium to accept 110,000 people, inside the park.
. Mayor and council majority are discussing to build, inside the park, a couple of additional tracks around the main one to facilitate entrance to the main track.

While worldwide environment protection is becoming a must, your trend is going right opposite.

As such, I fully disagree with the above mentioned decisions and discussions that are heavily damaging Parco di Monza historical and naturalistic asset.

Re:  GOLF COURSE INSIDE THE PARCO DI MONZA

This is in reference to the call for bids concerning the grant of the golf course, covering some 90 hectares North of the Parco di Monza. This area is to the sole use of 700 people only, members of the golf course, for an amount of 300,000 Eur/year only.

Since the call provides for an extremely long grant period and a very low grant cost, I am asking to gradually remove the golf course from the Parco di Monza.

Such removal would enable people to enjoy the area which also includes a valuable water spring.
